Introducing our new Events Assistant Jenny Anderson!

Hiya! It's Joella. Hope this post finds everyone super fantastic this Friday! I'm thrilled to make this post. It is my pleasure to introduce you to our new Events Assistant. Jenny came to us as an intern and was my Shining Star! I can't wait to watch her grow into an extraordinary planner! If you see her at any of our upcoming industry events, please introduce yourself. You'll love her just as much as we love having her a part of the Simply Mumtaz team!

Here is a little bit from Jenny herself...

I am beyond excited to take on the position of Events Assistant at SME! After working as an Intern for a few wedding and special events companies in both Colorado and California, (including Simply Mumtaz) I have learned that I love this industry! I am looking forward to learning more about event design and execution as well as having the opportunity to be creative. I have been waiting for the opportunity to take on a larger role and I couldn't have asked for a better company to work for!

I have already been able to learn a lot just by watching Joella and Jennifer at work and am eager to learn more! I am so excited to see what the future holds.

Summer Fun Planning a Historical Family Reunion

On Saturday July 9th, the Simply Mumtaz team put on a reunion for a historical and influential California family. It was a beautiful day at the Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum and was a very successful event. Upon arrival, guests were greeted by a group of Mariachis as well as historical reenactors. The museum was open for tours and family members were able to learn about their heritage as well as look over the complete family tree.

There were a variety of activities for guests to participate in throughout the day. There was an adobe brick making station mimicking the adobe bricks made when Dominguez family recevied the Spanish Land Grant, a horseshoe pit, and a mural to paint with images of notable contributions the family has made to Southern California. Plan-It Interactive provided a variety of activities for both adults and children including a fun mining for gold activity! There was even a dunk tank! Is there anything more fun than dunking your family members? This was really fun because when we were in the planning stages of the event, we laughed and told our client - yes, let's get a dunk tank and we can DUNK you! Plus, it was a fun water game for the kids... So, low and behold he was a good sport! He got up and was ready - Joella got 3 tosses! 1 and a miss! 2 and ....LOL! Wet! It was great. We even gathered everyone for a family shot! It was like herding cats, but once it was - It came out great! It was a fun-filled day! Thanks to all of those who helped us put the event together! Go SME!

MPI Southern California's Installation & Awards Gala

Last Thursday, June 3oth we attended the MPI Southern California Chapter's Installation Dinner and Awards Gala at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. It was a night filled with entertainment and networking, and a welcomed night out for the Simply Mumtaz team! During the Reception we were able to catch up with other planners and vendors while enjoying entertainment provided by Champagne Creative Group, DJ Stradivari, and Farrington Entertainment.

It was cool to be in the Blossom Room where the very first Academy Awards were held. We enjoyed a delicious meal and cheered on award winners. Congrats to the 2011 - 2012. Alizma played beautiful violin music throughout the night. Delicious dessert included an apple fritter and a cheesecake cake pop! To close out the night the John Burroughs High School Choir performed! Such a talented group and so fun to watch! We had such a wonderful time at the event, talking with fellow members of the industry and look forward to more MPI events in the future!
