Simply Mumtaz leads production of Joint Hospitality Industry Holiday Party

Joella Hopkins, CSEP, CMP from Simply Mumtaz Events, Inc. spearheaded the "Not Your Everyday Holiday Party" which was sponsored by 5 different hospitality industry organizations: International Special Events Society (ISES), Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC), National Association of Catering Executives (NACE), Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI), and Hospitality Financial Technology Professionals (HFTP). The holiday celebration welcomed over 325 attendees on its inaugural run. We had a terrific showing and it was all held at Hangar 8 in Santa Monica.

Here's the entrance to the event and the pre-opening room shot...
Here's the photo taken to commemorate all of the board leadership from the 5 different participating organizations! Pretty cool to have such great partnerships, huh?

We were fortunate to have Cirque USA provide two terrific performance artists...

I have to say, my very favorite part of the event was The Fry Girl. This is the coolest thing for those with a sweet tooth! She made fresh, hot, sweet, and gooey donuts on the spot!
A Sweet Design featured a table full of more goodies! Yummy, yummy cupcakes and cream puffs. Also, J&M Entertainment & Event Production brought in the Casino'tament... Very cool moves there!
Of course, being in the holiday spirit, we couldn't forget to bring in the spirits. I have to give mad props to both Chad Dickey (Pacific Coast Bar) and Cynda Hill (Salacious Cocktails) for taking care of the drinks. Craig (Craig's Crew) too for pulling it together!
Here's a shot of one of the evening's signature cocktails, the Orange-U-Lucky, presented by the Pacific Coast Bar & Beverage staff.
Besides a great time, we also had a canned food drive for The Midnight Mission and a toy drive for the Toys for Tots campaign. PLUS, we did all of this with a shade of green. We powered the whole event with a SMS BioDiesel Generator! We also recycled everything that we could - paper, cardboard, glass, plastic and aluminum.

Simply Mumtaz Events produced a super holiday party at the Point Moorea Bar in the Wilshire Grand Hotel this past week. We closed down the place with over 400 of Downtown Los Angeles' business elite, not to mention more than a handful of city elected officials and commissioners. Special Thanks to the Wilshire Grand team for making this a huge success! Especially Marc Loge & Executive Chef above.
Incredible sushi action station...

Holiday cookies anyone? On the other side of the cookies was a homemade vanilla ice cream station and with all the fixings!

Want a piece of shrimp or maybe some crab?

Downtown Tour - AT&T Center, LA Live and others...

Simply Mumtaz Events co-produced a Downtown Presentation & Tour to various commerical brokers, bankers and interested parties. It started at the new AT&T Center, managed by LBA Realty, in their very big auditorium. Check it out...
Then the attendees moved on to 5 different points in Downtown LA ranging from L.A. Live, The Hanover Building, and The Edison.

Attendees closed the days journey with at a quick fueling station on the newly form 30th floor of the AT&T Center. This floor used to not exist... it used to be outside, they closed it all in with glass and it's a super fantastic event space. Give us a call if you are looking for an amazing event with a view... Simply Mumtaz is your downtown connection! Here's some photos of folks sitting discussing the days various visits and potential opportunities still available in Downtown Los Angeles.

L.A. City Councilmember Greig Smith at J Lounge Restaurant & Lounge

So, yesterday we (Simply Mumtaz Events) produced a small board meeting of 80 with guest speaker L.A. City Councilmember Greig Smith at J Restaurant & Lounge. If you haven't heard of the J Lounge yet, listen up! It's a relatively new restaurant directly across the street from the also newly transformed AT&T Center (formerly TransAmerica Building). This place is outstanding. It's two floors and an outside patio. The first floor is a cool restaurant, then you head upstairs and it's an awesome bar and lounge... Go outside and you're under the LA skyline at a cool and comfy patio. But, best is the service and food.
Yesterday, we were in awe at the precision, QUIETNESS, courtesy and swiftness that our meals were dropped, served, and cleaned away all the while listening to the Councilmember speak about his recent travels, emergency preparedness plans for the City, and updates on his tasks for the City Council regarding job creation! But, most of all we enjoyed watching these high powered execs licking their forks and looking at each other with WOW - the food was that good!

Thank you to Sergio for hosting us at your venue, Chef Oz for his wonderful work, and Frederic & Malinda for creating such classy service. And, a special thanks to their team.

Simply Mumtaz does Business Luncheon at the Omni Downtown LA

Simply Mumtaz Events loves special events, but we also enjoy planning our client's business luncheons. This one was held at the Omni Downtown L.A. As always a special shout out to our Director of Catering over there, Sara Cameron.

It was a great panel on Architecture... before attendees sat down for lunch and panel discussion they enjoyed a Mini-Tradeshow / Exhibit. The exhibitors consisted of various Architecture firms showing their wares! Some really cool stuff.

The Green Gala goes Eco-Chic

Earlier this month, the Simply Mumtaz Events team produced the 4th Annual Green Gala. This dynamic event was hosted at the California Science Center in the beautiful Wallis Annenberg Building's "Big Lab" - one of the greenest event venues in Los Angeles.

This fundraising event celebrates those who think, act, design and build greener in Los Angeles and promotes standards for green building throughout the world. This year's Green Gala was greener that ever before, incorporating elements of organic and locally-grown cuisine, décor made of natural materials and potted plants and post-event recycling and composting. The program highlights on sustainable development and sustainable living made the event truly Eco-Chic!
The open-air ceiling added to the cool ambiance and allowed for great air circulation.

Energy efficient LED lights provided a stunning décor effect without using the excessive power of more traditional lighting options.

Guests were welcomed into Exploration Cove with chilled champagne.

Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard & ISES- LA's Meet the Masters

Hey everybody. There's been a lot going on and we will be posting quite a bit these coming weeks. It's been great getting to see old friends and new faces at events. So, the first photo below is a photo of Joella Hopkins, CSEP, CMP, Simply Mumtaz Events and Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard, 34th Congressional District. We recently planned a board meeting for a downtown business association and the Congresswoman was the keynote speaker. It was very interesting to listen to her take on the next 4 years in office with our new President Elect Barak Obama.

The next set of photos are from the ISES Los Angeles signature event - Meet the Masters. Joella had the pleasure of co-chairing the event with Sarajane Landun. It was a great success. A special shout out to all of the event showcasers and the Masters for making it out. Additional photos will be posted on the ISES-LA website.

We'll be posting soon on the 4th Annual Green Gala. Now, that was a cool event! Talk Soon!

Simply Mumtaz produces 3rd Annual Hospital Hero Awards

We had the pleasure of producing the 3rd Annual Hospital Hero Awards at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel. It was a rush of last minute adventures, but the event ultimately came out GREAT. The purpose of the awards luncheon is to honor those unsung heroes who perform miracles everyday in the health system. We too often only hear about the bad, this event is to bring positive forward, acknowledge, and celebrate. Suzanne Rico, CBS2, was our mistress of ceremonies. She's great. With a little calendar mishap, she ended up with her little one at the event - But, isn't he just adorable!

With over 54 nominees representing 54 different Hospitals in the Southern California area, you could feel the excitement.

We hope next year we will have many more nominees and be able to celebrate more amazing Hospital Heroes!

Special Thanks to J&M Entertainment & Event Production for their team work in acting as our Technical Producers. Also, a special thank you to Michael Norwood at M.Norwood Photography for these great photos. AND, to the Simply Mumtaz team - thank you for your quick and smart reactions in producing this event!
