Simply Mumtaz at The Special Event Show

Hey everybody! So, we've (Simply Mumtaz Events - Event Mangement) been here (in San Diego) a few days now and it's finally warming up. Thank God, it's been so cold. Today was great! Besides hanging with a few Mumtaz friends sporting our "Don't Hate Me Because I'm Mumtaz" T'Shirts, we also got to sit in on an old friend's seminar. Youngsong Martin from Wildflower Linens (she's actually going to be a guest blogger in a few!). Joella Hopkins, CSEP, CMP, Jennifer Minzey, Karli Tanner, CMP and Jorge Lopez, J&M Entertainment.

Simply Mumtaz produces business luncheon at Wilshire Grand Hotel

Hey all! We (Simply Mumtaz) produced last week a business luncheon and thought we'd share some of the pics. In particular we are especially excited to share... Check out the Green initiative the Wilshire Grand is taking in water conservation! The tables were not originally set with water, attendees needed to request water be served. This is a great way to go Green! Just beware that until this is standard in all hotels and special event venues, some attendees will find this a hassle. So, make sure your wait staff is ready to serve when water is requested. The little sign on the table helps a lot too!

Joella will be speaking at TSE! Information Download: Green Special Events!

Hey there! So, we're proud that Simply Mumtaz President, Joella Hopkins, CSEP, CMP will be speaking at TSE! Her session is: Information Download: Green Special Events! If you are attending, the session is Thursday morning from 1030 - 1230. She will be presenting a fast-paced energetic session covering various Greening aspects of Special Events: Design, Planning, Technical Production, Rentals, Weddings, and Daily Business Practices. She will also be offering a 50 Top Tricks and Tips to go Green Checklist. If you can't make the session, email her at joella@simplymumtaz.com and we'll email one out to you.

Excited for TSE! Gonna see some out-of-town friends!

Hey everybody! I can't believe how fast January is going... wasn't just Christmas... WOW. But, I'm really excited about The Special Event (TSE) this year. We (Simply Mumtaz) are going three strong. ME, Joella Hopkins, CSEP, CMP, Karli Tanner, CMP, and our newest Event Coordinator, Jennifer Minzey. We'll post about her in a few when we have her cool photo ready to post. But, yeah it's fun to see old friends! Since I didn't have the opportunity to make EventWorld in St. Pete last year I'm geared up for an awesome TSE. Education, Networking, and some plain old fun... Barring one client doesn't loose it, we're all there all week. I tell everyone how important it is to take time and go get educated, meet the elite of our indsutry and be inspired!

Remembering a Good Friend! We'll miss you Rodney.

I was going through some photos in preparation for our next website update and found this photo. I thought I'd post it since this photo is so special to my heart. I planned a big event for a client that fell on my birthday and Rodney came out to celebrate with me "post event"! It was one of the best birthday's of my life (my parents came in from Florida - as a total surprise) and Rodney was there to celebrate with me along with other good friends and family.


Rodney recently passed away and the whole Simply Mumtaz team and I will miss him dearly. Rodney was the Director of Catering & Conventions at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel and a wonderful person that we were each privileged to know.

The Simply Mumtaz team celebrates the Holidays!

Hey there. We closed the place down! It was some great eats and well worth waiting for. Yamato, Joella's favorite restaurant... Japanese Teppan Grill, 3 chefs called in sick! So, there was a long wait to get our chef, but after two free rounds of appetizers and some sake we were good. Enjoyed good food, conversation and company.
