Mumtaz at the 2013 L.A. Elected Officials Reception

This past July, Mumtaz had the pleasure of putting together the 2013 Elected Officials Reception at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel with delicious food and great drinks, all at the beat of 80’s music. Certainly a soirée to remember with about 500 guests! 

Most business leaders of the Downtown LA area joined us for this event, where they got to meet the newly elected and re-elected Los Angeles City Officials. Between the attendees were California State Senators Kevin de Leon and Alex Padilla; California State Assembly Members Raul Bocanegra, Adrin Nazarian and Reginald Jones-Sawyer, Sr; L.A. County Board of Supervisors Zev Yaroslavsky; LA City Attorney Mike Feuer and LA City Controller Ron Galperin.

It was a great opportunity to network, get to know our current elected officials and hear directly from them what innovative ideas are yet to take place in our beautiful city. Crystal Eagle Awards at the Omni...

It was a pleasure working with Coro Southern California on their 37th annual Crystal Eagle Awards this year! It was held at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel and it featured a silent auction with over 80 items! Silent auction proceeds went to keep the organization fulfilling their mission. Coro is really an incredible organization that helps to create tomorrow's leaders. This year the honorees included Dennis Gilbert, Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Chicago Whitesox; Larry King, Television Anchor and Host, Author and Philanthropist; Martha Saucedo, Community Builder, AEG; and George Kieffer, LA Civic Leader, Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP. The event's Master of Ceremonies was L.A. City Council President, The Honorable Herb Wesson, Jr. Conan Nolan from NBC4 served as Moderator. Lt. Governor Newsom Speaks At The Omni

Hi All! SME recently got the opportunity to host California’s Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom at our client’s event last week at the beautiful Omni Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Lieutenant Governor addressed over 150 guests in the Bunker Hill room at the Omni where he laid out his “Economic Growth and Competiveness Agenda for California.”  Guests left with a renewed sense and understanding of California’s future in creating jobs and growing as Newsom stayed for questions long after his speech. Plus, some of our team was able to sneak a pic - Christian, Jennifer, Lt. Gov. Newsom, and Jenny!

Simply Mumtaz does Business Luncheon at the Omni Downtown LA

Simply Mumtaz Events loves special events, but we also enjoy planning our client's business luncheons. This one was held at the Omni Downtown L.A. As always a special shout out to our Director of Catering over there, Sara Cameron.

It was a great panel on Architecture... before attendees sat down for lunch and panel discussion they enjoyed a Mini-Tradeshow / Exhibit. The exhibitors consisted of various Architecture firms showing their wares! Some really cool stuff.

Simply Mumtaz & Karen Bass, Speaker of the California State Assembly

Last week we planned a wonderful reception to welcome the new Speaker of the California State Assembly, Karen Bass. She was awesome! An inspirational speaker and a gracious guest. Two of her key issues are the environment and small business in California. As a small business ourselves and a company who believes in Green initiatives and tries to do our part in improving the environment, we really valued meeting her and managing an event in her honor.
