So, this was one of the craziest and most fun events that we've recently planned - LA Streetcar's "Taste of Streetcar". Love our clients and partners in creating this event... So, here's a bunch of photos of the event. Bottom line - We were originally at a different location in Downtown LA - South Park and moved within 10 days to the Cooper Design Building in the Fashion District to being overwhelmed in RSVPs. We expected 300 - 400 and we have over 1500 RSVPs!!!! We had just under a 1000 at one time for this event. The purpose of the event was to educate downtown residence that they must be registered to vote in order to vote for the Streetcar. The Streetcar will have an incredible positive impact on Downtown and this event was all about awareness! So, we produced the Taste of Streetcar - all of the restaurants along the route or just off the proposed route got involved in showcasing their tasty fare for their customers - downtown residence.
It was an fantastic showing of over 19 restaurants that hand enough "tastes" for 1000 people! Just some of them were:
213 Revolution Nightly, Alma, Corkbar, Coronado’s Restaurant & Bar,
Figaro Bistro, Industriel, Market, Mo Chica, The Standard, The Edison, Tiara Café,
Two Boots Pizza, Pete’s Café, Mediterranean City Grill, Localita, Grand CentralMarket, Raw Bites, Umamicatessen
What a huge commitment! Thank You! AND, Thank You to everyone from the event team, committee, venue management, City representatives, and to each one of our team vendors who really pulled through! Whew! Thank you Emily Ivey! You really rocked it with these photos!
While loading these photos I'm going hmmm, what amazing food we had that night! Yum! If you haven't been to Downtown recently you really need to get down there!

Yup, ASAE12 Dallas - Reporting In #1
It's very exciting - we are closing down ASAE2012 as we speak in Dallas! What a wonderful few days... So here's our first report. Joella will be posting one more to close out the highlights and top take home tips... But, first we need to give mad props to Debbie Meyers of Bravo Entertainment because without her generosity we wouldn't have been able to make it out. Thank you!
Day #1 - Arrival & Opening Night at Cowboy Stadium!
ASAE 2012 was held at the Dallas Convention Center. This was our third time in Dallas in recent years and the Dallas CVB did a great job ensuring the 12,000 attendees were happily welcomed!
Yup, that's some of our attendees being kids running around and posing on the 50 yard line's Cowboy Star! LOL!

Once checked in we all got geared up for the Opening Night Reception being held at Cowboy Stadium. Wow, what an experience! Again, big kudos go out to the team producing the event especially Bravo Entertainment! You can also follow them on Twitter at @BravoforU. Here are a few photos... Upon arriving we were greeted by the famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Gorgeous Living Carpet Gals, Live Music, DJs, and a ton of food and open bars! Then, as you got closer to peer down on the field you realized there was this ginormous LED screen that was streaming live interviews of attendees. Then, you realized at some point they were going to get us down onto the field because as you can see below it was ready! Lounges, Bars, Activities, and a Stage!
Below is the newest & coolest thing in the DJ world. Touch Screen DJ! www.touchscreendjs.com
OK, just about to get on the field...Yup, that's some of our attendees being kids running around and posing on the 50 yard line's Cowboy Star! LOL!

OK, so now all attention is on center stage... Loved Cowboy Troy plus... Big and Rich. They did a phenomenal job!
OK, so the following morning was Opening General Session plus Education Sessions - Here's our top take homes!

Mumtaz Reports In ISES EventWorld 2012 Dallas
Hey everyone. So, we had a fabulous time at ISES (International Special Events Society) EventWorld Conference this past week in Dallas. Here are some pics and Jenn's highlights. The conference was all about celebrating our past 25 years as an organization and looking forward towards the next 25 years of creativity, connecting, and inspiring. The opening general session recognized 22 of our past 25 ISES International Presidents! Wow, what an amazing show of continued support.
Of course at Gilley's we had to stop and take some green screen photos provided by Catch the Moment.
The conference closed with the Esprit Awards. What a blast! The team that produced the Conference should be very excited about their hard work. It all paid off and everyone is still talking about the education sessions, networking, and fun times. Here's Joella and Jennifer upon arriving at the Esprits!
We also loved Cort's super cool dance floor at Club ISES! Great idea and tons of fun to dance on! Logos, designs, etc. all on the super fantastic dance floor.
Joella got to spend some quality time with Ruth Moyte - fellow ISES International Marketing & Communications committee. Here's to creating new professional and personal working relationships!
We have to give a special shout out to the Esprit Awards team for their hard work. Everyone loved the whole booth effect! It was really fun... We can't wait to use the concept. Those folks that were seated on the perimeter of the event felt special because the whole booth effect made them feel a part of the event and not just the last in the row...
Here's a little highlight wrap report from Jenn!
I discovered new technology at this conference that I was really excited about. From new style twitter feeds from Red Button ... Here's a shot from Joella and I at the event that we tweeted using the event hashtag - not only was it displayed on the event screen but it was instantly printed at a print station that was branded with event and sponsor logos...
Ok, that's all folks from the Mumtaz gals!
Then we headed to the SEARCH event... It was great celebrating their 15th Anniversary of helping those special events industry colleagues in times of crisis and need. Please LIKE the SEARCH Foundation on Facebook or FOLLOW them on Twitter @SEARCHFound.
So, we also visited Gilley's! Tons of fun learning a bit of line dancing! Yes, both Jenn and Joella had some fun taking their turn learning a bit Country... LOL. But, upon arriving we were greeted by these Cowgirls on longhorns. Didn't even know you could saddle them like horses... You go girls!Of course at Gilley's we had to stop and take some green screen photos provided by Catch the Moment.

What can I say about my trip to
ISES Eventworld……other than it was one of the best experiences at a conference
that I have had! It was such a learning experience and an inspiration to
me. ISES Eventworld’s Leadership Training for the ISES chapter boards was
training that I was looking forward to. From the team building
exercises, the individual tools for board members they gave to hearing of the
same challenges that other board members faced, this past week was an eye opening
experience. I am looking forward to sharing what I learned with my team
here in LA and moving our ISES LA chapter onward and upward. I made
lots of new connections and built new friendships that spans the globe!

to Award Winning 3D Mapping Technology from architecture.com to LED spherical used for stage props to a very cool touch
screen DJing equipment called the Emulator, it is amazing how technology is
changing the very fabric of what we do. Yes, a lot of the technology
isn’t cheap, but it is the WOW factor that so many of us planners are always
shooting for, especially when it comes to an event that we have done year after
year. I am looking forward to one day being able to use the technology
that is available to us in one of our events.
