What a Birthday Bash!!!

We simply loved putting this special event together. On March 7th, Mumtaz Marketing &Events had the pleasure of celebrating Ms. Billie Greer’s rocking 75th birthday party at the gorgeous 32nd floor of the AT&T Center with about 300 of Billie’s relatives and close friends including many well known political figures. It was an evening to remember including outstanding views of Downtown and custom birthday surprises around each corner of the program.  
The celebration started with Billie’s grand entrance in a Harley Davidson motorcycle! Let's not talk about the hoops we had to go thru to get the approvals needed...
The charming Supervisor Don Knabe served as the MC for the evening where we had family members, elected and government officials, and civic engaged friends recognize Billie for her contributions to each of their respective works. Besides being a Harley Davidson babe, Billie loves the Opera so - we had a very special performance from the LA Opera... Ah-Maz-Ing!
Then to close the program we had none other than the USC Marching Band part the crowd... There's nothing like being up, close, and personal...
Billie thanked everyone for attending, blew out her custom cake candle, and went on to enjoy the evening! Guests got to enjoy none other than Patina's catering while they played with the photo booth featuring the Opera, USC Marching Band, etc.
 
And, of course as the sun went down the lighting went from nice to awesome! Especially with the city lights in the background... We even had colored gels shooting the outside of the building purple & red! 
 
   
It was such a pleasure to plan this truly special evening for Billie! What an amazing woman and what a pleasure to work with. Happy Birthday Billie!
This was just the beginning of a very dynamic March for the Mumtaz team! We will be back with more updates soon….

Zev at Mumtaz' DTLA March Association Meeting

Mumtaz Marketing & Events started March contributing to the development of transportation in Downtown L.A. by organizing a very interesting presentation by Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky on March 7 at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM). It is amazing to see the relentless business growth of Downtown L.A. throughout the past 15 years and continue to be part of this bloom while observing the impact it has powering our economy, specifically in Arts & Culture.  The number of people attracted to Downtown LA by large venues such as LA Live and Staples Center between many others has a strong impact on restaurant, hotels and other types businesses for which the development of transportation is necessary. New projects were presented and discussed during this meeting in order to facilitate the flow of people coming in and increase the business success even more during the next years to come.

Will we see you at CalSae?

Will we see you at the California Society of Association Executives Annual Elevate Conference? Mumtaz President Joella Hopkins, CSEP, CMP will be participating as a speaker. The Elevate Conference is being held in San Francisco on April 17-19. 


Joella will be presenting alongside some amazing leaders in the industry as part of Ignite! The Ignite format features quick nuggets of knowledge presented in 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds! It's fast! It's exciting! It's educational! Each presentation will be followed by Q&A with the presenter. Joella will be presenting "What Message Are Your Events Sending?" The brief description reads...Tired of the same old monthly member meetings? Make those necessary meetings count towards building member retention by bringing your members one very important message… Their membership dollars are vital to their success. Ensure your brand is developed and distinguished; that you deliver a message in the form of an experience that allows members to remember why they continue to be a part of your organization. Whether you start from the top down or from the down up your overall marketing plan must fall in line with your association’s business goals. This means that as part of each reception, meeting, conference, or special event that your touch points are delivering a carefully and thought out message. Your event departments are constantly in touch with your members – shouldn’t that be strategic department?

MUMTAZ featured in IMEX February Briefing

IMEX is the largest Worldwide Exhibition for Incentive Travel, Meeting & Events that takes place annually in America and Germany. IMEX Frankfurt 2012 gathered about 9000 attendees from all over the world.  This event is so prevalent because it offers a wide-range of free education programs and vision initiatives that bring new solutions that challenge conventional industry thinking while addressing main industry issues.

We are thrilled to be featured in the IMEX 2013 February briefing as an example of successful innovation in the production of a sustainable experiential marketing project! We are proud of having such a wonderful client that allow the whole team to be creative, innovative, and inspired to produce such an event!

MUMTAZ @ TSE 2013 & SEARCH Foundation in Chicago

Yet another fantastic TSE show this year! The world’s largest tradeshow and conference for event professionals took place on January 15-18 in The Windy City bringing together event professionals from all over the globe. What a great place to learn about the latest trends! The conference program was outstanding as well as all the social activities for the conference, definitely a fantastic networking opportunity for everyone! There is nothing like being at a conference with great friends and business colleagues. TSE is a great place to not only catch up but also create new professional relationships that thrive into long-term personal and business relationships.

Um, yeah - For those of you that know what this means... LOL!
So, on opening night of the conference we got off the buses to a very cool and unique space outside the City and had to take a freight elevator up... It was awesome - the elevator was its own party featuring a DJ! Awesome idea! It was a great initial impression!

So, Joella sits on the SEARCH Foundation board and Thursday night was all about SEARCH! Special shout out to Ben at Diamond Event Group! He was our technical producer and did a wonderful job. As part of fundraising for SEARCH we ask all of our vendors to donate their services... It's such an incredible thing that our event showcasers donate so much of their time, money, product, and energy in helping the organizations! Thank You!

The following day we headed to the Masters Brunch... Very cool event and we got to sit with new - well not so new friend - Mr. Rick Jobe! We love him... The Presidential theme came together very nicely! 
 
You had to sneak away and go to the SEARS Tower - What an incredible view... Plus you have to walk out on the edge... At first it's like - UM, will this glass hold?
Finally, a special shout out to Audrey Gordon for helping us thru the events and serving as the TSE Ambassador! LOVE! Until next year - Let's see what Tennessee will hold???

Breakfast Series with the LA Mayoral Candidates

Getting ready for the upcoming Los Angeles Mayoral election, Mumtaz Marketing & Events had the pleasure to plan a series of breakfast forums with the candidates, including special presentations by Councilmember Eric Garcetti, City Controller Wendy Greuel and Councilwoman Jan Perry at the Orpheum Theater in Downtown LA. 

It was a great opportunity for community business developers, small business owners and government officials to come together and get familiar with the Mayoral candidates plans for economic expansion and to ask them questions about their proposed solutions to solve the city’s budget issues. 

Interesting points of view and new ideas where brought up which make the future of our beautiful city an exciting one! Stay tuned for more...
